Overview
To work as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing services to children aged 0-18 years and families within the region.
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a physiotherapy service to include assessment diagnostics and intervention and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities.
The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children's homes and community settings.

Requirements and Qualifications
Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience:
Candidates for appointment must:
i.
Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
ii.
Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
iii.
Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Register Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Annual registration
i.
On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
ii.
Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
Other requirements include:
Current eligibility to work in the state
Valid driving licence for within the state / jurisdiction with access to own transport to deliver services across a large geographical area
At least 6 months experience in working with children with disabilities
Experience in conducting Assessment of Need assessments
Experience in prescribing and monitoring equipment
Experience in provision of Hydrotherapy
Experience of working in a community based setting
1 year post-qualification experience working in Paediatrics
Be a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists
Experience working with children and their families
Experience of a paediatric placement from undergraduate training
Demonstrate professional reasoning and behaviour with an understanding of the role of the Therapist
Demonstrate knowledge of theory and practice
Demonstrate ability to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Family Centred approach in the delivery of services to people with disabilities
Evidence of commitment to Continuous Professional Development
Remuneration and Benefits
Contract Type:
Permanent Full-time
Contract Hours:
35 hours per week
Salary Scale:
€42,384 to €61,945 pro rata per annum.
Salary scales are subject to Long Service Increments (LSI).
Pay adjustments:
This pay scale is subject to increases in **** in accordance with the WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.
Annual Leave Entitlement:
32 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service
