Role Overview Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Systems Accountant will play a key role in strengthening the organisations financial systems and data foundations. The position involves managing system integrations, overseeing reporting structures, and driving digital improvements that enhance financial visibility and operational performance. Role Responsibilities: Lead the management, optimisation, and ongoing development of finance systems, ensuring smooth integration with operational and non-financial platforms. Maintain accurate financial data and champion automation opportunities to streamline core processes and enhance digital reporting capabilities. Support the transition from legacy systems, improve reporting outputs and dashboards, and enable efficient month-end processes. Provide margin analysis, variance reviews, and actionable insights to leadership. Strengthen internal controls, refine workflows, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function. Act as a subject-matter expert, supporting teams across the organisation in maximising the value of financial systems. Ensure systems and processes support compliance requirements and provide robust audit trails. Work closely with Finance, Operations, IT, and senior leadership to align systems with business needs and support the organisations growth path. Candidate Profile A recognised accounting qualification with 25 years PQE Strong experience with finance systems, cloud-based platforms, or system implementations Advanced Excel skills and a high degree of technical and analytical capability Strong commercial awareness, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into meaningful insight A proactive, solutions-driven approach, with an interest in operational performance and margin analysis Interested in this opportunity?
