About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Frontend Developer to join our team building the Finerty Open Finance (FOF) Platform - a multi-tenant SaaS solution enabling financial advisors, and financial institutions to access and securely exchange financial data, with consumer consent.
This role offers the opportunity to build user experiences for multiple client-facing portals that directly impact how thousands of professionals and their clients interact with financial data. You'll work on design system development, financial data visualisation, cloud migration and open banking and open finance integrations. operating in a fast-paced environment where user experience directly influences business outcomes and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Application Ownership & Multi-Portal Development
* Own multiple frontend applications end-to-end
* Work closely with our UX/UI Designer & Technical team to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience
* Testing of product concepts and features before and during development and implementation
* Build and maintain responsive, accessible, performant user interfaces
* Implement and enforce design system consistency across portals
* Write clean, well-tested TypeScript code with comprehensive coverage
* Take ownership of frontend performance monitoring and optimisation
User Experience & Design Leadership
* Collaborate on UX strategy
– Partner with stakeholders and designers to improve user flows, particularly around compliance-heavy interactions
* Monitoring of industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the design quality and innovation of open finance and financial data products.
* Translate wireframes and mock-ups into pixel-perfect, interactive implementations
* Advocate for user-centric design; propose improvements based on user feedback, analytics, and compliance requirements
* Conduct usability reviews and accessibility audits; champion accessible design practices
* Create and maintain design system documentation and component libraries
* Build design system as strategic asset:
Define typography, spacing, colour systems, and component standards; document accessibility requirements
Financial Data Visualisation & Dashboard Development
* Design and implement real-time dashboards for financial data (account summaries, transaction histories, policy metrics, analytics)
* Work with backend teams to understand data structures and real-time requirements
* Build interactive visualisations that make complex financial data intelligible and actionable
* Optimise rendering performance for high-frequency data updates and insights
* Implement data-driven UI patterns (filters, sorting, drill-downs, exports)
Compliance & Trust-First Design
* Consent Management Flows:
Build intuitive consent management experiences (consent capture, management & revocation, data transparency)
* Design progressive disclosure patterns that build user confidence
* Implement clear data sharing permissions dashboards and consent management interfaces
* Open Banking Integration UI:
Build flows for bank account connection, identity verification, and data aggregation
* Accessibility Excellence:
Ensure all interfaces meet WCAG 2.1 AA compliance standards; audit for keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, colour contrast
* Regulatory Mindset:
Understand that design decisions have compliance implications; work closely with compliance team on UX requirements
* Contribute to regulatory and user documentation and UX compliance evidence
Cloud & DevOps Integration
* Deploy frontend applications to cloud infrastructure; configure CI/CD pipelines
* Implement feature flags and A/B testing for controlled rollouts
* Optimise for performance using CDN, caching, lazy loading, code splitting
* Monitor frontend performance and UX metrics using observability tools
* Support infrastructure decisions; advocate for scalable, maintainable deployments
AI-Powered Interfaces
* Integrate AI/LLM capabilities for:
* Intelligent form completion and auto-suggestions
* Conversational UI components (chatbots, guided workflows)
* Document preview, analysis, and summarisation views
* Smart search and natural language filtering
* Work with backend teams to surface AI capabilities responsibly
* Ensure responsible AI patterns: clear user feedback, explainability, graceful degradation
Quality, Testing & Collaboration
* Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
* Participate in code reviews; provide architectural feedback
* Collaborate with backend developers on API contracts and data formats
* Support accessibility compliance across all interfaces
* Contribute to technical documentation and architectural decision records
* Mentor junior developers on best practices
Required Experience
Must Have
* 5+ years
frontend development experience with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar)
* Strong experience with
React or equivalent modern framework
and modern patterns (hooks, composition, state management)
* Production experience with cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, GCP—cloud deployment experience required)
* Solid grasp of
responsive design, CSS fundamentals

Working Style & Environment
Remote working
We operate as a distributed team. You'll work independently with some flexibility to agree working hours to coordinate asynchronously.

Close partnership with product managers (on requirements), designers (on implementation), backend engineers (on API contracts), and compliance/legal (on regulatory implications).
Ownership:
End-to-end responsibility for applications—from design through production support. We empower engineers; minimal hand-holding.
