Reporting to the Project Manager, the role of Senior Project Engineer is to manage a team of engineers in the execution of the project scope, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to high-quality standards. The Senior Project Engineer will also develop construction execution plans, schedules, and subcontract work scopes as needed for project delivery. Typical responsibilities include:
1. Managing Health and Safety matters on site, ensuring company safety procedures are followed.
2. Overseeing work activities to maintain safety, health, and welfare of all personnel affected by the project.
3. Planning all aspects of work from initiation to closure, including materials, subcontract work packages, and craft requirements.
4. Ensuring completion of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, SPA’s, and client permits for all tasks.
5. Managing the site supervision team, including engineers and craft supervisors.
6. Collaborating with the site Planner, Engineer, and Foreman to develop constructability reports and schedules.
7. Establishing subcontractor work scope execution plans, including tendering, awarding, and controlling costs, schedule, quality, and safety.
8. Coordinating prefabrication planning with workshops and managing related documentation.
9. Generating progress reports for clients in a timely manner.
10. Working with Quantity Surveyors on cost management, including pricing variations and negotiations.
11. Reporting EHS statistics monthly to clients and internally.
12. Participating in internal and client meetings to ensure project success.
13. Controlling work hours, inputting data, and managing site change requests.
14. Inspecting work for safety, technical, and design compliance.
15. Collaborating with QA/QC to ensure standards and specifications are met.
16. Overseeing the assembly of handover packages for clients.
17. Performing additional tasks as assigned by the General Foreman or Construction Manager.
Person Specification
* Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience as a senior mechanical/project engineer.
* Experience as Construction Manager or Senior Project Engineer on mechanical construction projects in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Semi-conductor, or Oil & Gas industries.
* Experience with equipment installation, piping fabrication, piping installation, and pressure testing.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or equivalent preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Navis Works or similar.
* Desirable: Management of Safety in Construction (MSIC) certification.
