Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager, as part of the Senior Leadership Team, will develop and implement a supply chain that supports the commercial objectives of the business and delivers a best-in-class, cost-effective service to customers. Responsibilities include Production Planning, driving on-time delivery of finished goods, managing inventory, and optimizing all shipping/customer services activities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for Production Planning, Raw Material Planning/ordering, Raw material & Finished Goods Warehouse management, and master data accuracy in SAP. Manage Plant Supply Chain activities with a focus on achieving the targeted OTIF (On-Time in Full) for customer deliveries or deliveries to other West Pharma plants as requested by internal/external customers.
Balance financial targets, production targets (low production variability, high utilization of equipment, good OEE), and customer service requirements.
Manage ordering of raw materials to ensure timely supply to production departments for in-time production as scheduled.
Continuously monitor major KPIs (OTIF, Schedule Adherence, Inventory DOS, Late List, Lead Time, clean-to-build), analyze deviations, and implement improvement actions.
Lead and develop the Planning and Warehousing teams. Manage appropriate inventory levels for raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods.
Build an agile Supply Chain approach with flexible shift models, processes for higher flexibility (e.g., FTO), flexible packaging lines, and related actions.
Ensure production planning is carried out in SAP. Regularly review SCM Master Data Settings in SAP and MES.
Collaborate with Production and Quality to maintain high customer service levels. Support monthly target setting and forecasting for plant output, cost absorption, inventory and shipment planning. Conduct capacity planning and modelling to identify pinch points and take corrective actions. Develop a local S&OP process to guide site operations.
Coordinate with other West plants to identify and realize synergies; contribute to budget creation and control for the area of responsibility. Create reports and analyses for Plant Management or Corporate Functions to support Budget, Review and Planning Meetings.
Education
Degree level qualification in Business, Business Engineering, SCM is required
Master's level is an advantage
Work Experience
7+ years of experience in a relevant Supply Chain function
Experience in leading Supply Chain teams
Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and approaches, with focus on production planning
Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
Design and application knowledge of SAP supply chain tools, with emphasis on SAP ERP
Supply Chain optimization along the Product Life-Cycle
Target-driven and result-oriented
Experience in a cGMP environment
Strong IT competence
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels within the organization, suppliers, customers and external contractors
