NESFircroft continue to partner with a global power generation OEM who are actively looking for an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to assist for 6 months with a possibility to extend for another 3 months on their high-profile project in Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance and calibration of control and instrumentation systems from a CCGT or power plant background.
The role will be Monday to Friday 39 hours per week.
Essential Responsibilities:
* Maintain and repair all electrical, instrumentation and control systems on site.
* Perform calibration as required on all control system input and output devices. Example: transmitters, control valves, Switches, etc.
* Support Operations and Maintenance personnel as required.
* Comply with all applicable environmental, health, and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
* Minimum 4 years progressively responsible experience in power plant, marine, refinery, or similar industries.
* Proficient in calibration and troubleshooting of Instrumentation.
* Experience with repair or replacement of process control instrumentation.
* Fundamental knowledge of programmable logic controllers or distributed control systems.
* Fundamental knowledge of electrical distribution equipment.
* Able to use test instruments, Fluke Pressure Calibrator, Hart Communicator for electrical testing, Instrument Calibration, and troubleshooting.
* Available for call-outs during the week and weekends.
* Willing to learn equipment operation, troubleshooting and repair from Manufacturers Manuals or other information.
* Able to climb ladders and stairs to access equipment installed within the power plant.
* Hands on experience on Field Instrument (Transmitters, Switches) Calibration and Troubleshooting.
* Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and schematics.
