Optimizing Moulding Processes for High-Volume Injection Moulding
As a highly skilled Mould Tooling Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and sustaining optimum moulding processes for the manufacturing of regulated moulded components.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading moulding/tooling activities for new product introduction, coordinating with project leads for capital projects related to new moulding machines, mould tools, and auxiliary equipment.
You will initiate equipment and mould user requirement specifications, manage vendor selection, RFQs, and equipment/mould build processes. Participating in design reviews and FAT of new moulding equipment and tooling is also an essential part of this role.
Maintaining accurate documentation of project activities in line with quality and validation guidelines is crucial. Supporting technology improvements for moulding processes for new and existing products, optimizing processes using latest moulding techniques, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and conducting feasibility trials/DOE's are all key responsibilities.
Ensuring new processes are designed for manufacturability, automation, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with quality and EHS standards is vital. Managing and executing production equipment transfers, including IQ & OQ, training, validation, troubleshooting, and documentation are also required.
This is a challenging opportunity for someone who has extensive knowledge of medical device manufacturing, validation processes, robot programming, hot runner moulds, diagnostics, and processing of engineering resins.
* Knowledge of polymer/polymer process engineering principles
* Advanced training in plastic injection moulding processing; RJG Master Moulder certification preferred
* 8+ years of hands-on experience in high-volume injection moulding
* Ability to interpret drawings, stay updated on moulding technology, and apply lean techniques
* Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills
