Assistant Lecturer in Spatial Planning (Permanent Wholetime)(Reference: 32a/2026) Job Description The successful candidate will be required to teach across a range of topics within the field of spatial planning and be able to teach in at least one additional specialist area from the fields of sustainable transport & mobility, urban regeneration & development or a cognate and relevant disciplinary specialisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, delivery and quality assurance of programmes including curriculum development and liaising with students. A proven track record of research and scholarly activities and the ability to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students and contribute to the research output and scholarly activities of the School will be an advantage. The ability to demonstrate good levels of engagement with industry, and be in a position to further develop this engagement, will also be an advantage. The role will be located within the School of Architecture Building & Environment, but will be primarily linked to the Environment & Planning discipline and will report to the Head of Environment & Planning. It is anticipated there will be opportunities for cross-collaboration across the new School and its diverse but strongly cohesive disciplinary areas. The successful appointee will possess multi-disciplinary skillsets to fulfil a balance of demand for teaching and research skills under the disciplinary headings of (i) spatial planning, and (ii) at least one additional disciplinary area from across sustainable transport & mobility; urban regeneration & development or other cognate disciplinary specialisation. Hours of Work:This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18hours per week), attendance is required from Monday to Friday during the general working hours of the School and University. Location: Bolton St, TU Dublin.
