Project Development Lead
Our organization seeks a highly skilled Project Development Lead to oversee the implementation of manufacturing processes and supply chain systems. This permanent, hybrid role is based in Cork City, Ireland.
This position requires independent judgment, professional expertise, and minimal supervision. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and interface with Commercial and Operational leaders to maintain organizational cohesion.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Developing manufacturing strategies that align with Commercial and Operational goals.
* Delivering manufacturing components of new product programs, focusing on scope, planning, quality, budget, supply, and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
* Leading and overseeing project teams comprising Quality, Sterilisation, Production, Packaging, Labelling, Materials, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, HR, Process Engineering, Facilities & EHS, ensuring achievement of deliverables and operational success.
* Collaborating with manufacturing site leadership during design development to ensure compliant, timely, and within-budget process implementation, meeting quality system requirements for product transfer to commercialization.
* Developing communication plans to update stakeholders on project status across business forums.
* Coordinating with Regulatory Affairs to align project strategy with regulatory requirements.
* Supporting supply chain strategies and driving timely qualification of sourced components (PPAP) in line with QMS.
* Determining demand and implementing manufacturing capacity solutions for product development, validation, and launch activities.
* Promoting Lean Manufacturing principles throughout project phases.
* Leading capital acquisition strategies, including cost determination, approvals, negotiations, and installation of equipment.
* Identifying and escalating obstacles, leading resolution efforts to keep projects on track.
* Setting project priorities, instilling urgency, and utilizing project management tools to ensure delivery.
* Participating in resource selection, training, and performance appraisals, including temporary SMEs.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent, with at least 4 years of engineering/project experience in a regulated industry. Strong leadership skills, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also essential.
