Corporate Finance Analyst / AdvisorFull time permanent positionPE Global are delighted to be working with our client, who provides financial, commercial and advisory services to Government and oversees a large portfolio of publicly owned commercial entities across sectors such as energy, transport, communications, housing, ports, aviation and media.It manages a significant portfolio of public assets and investments and acts as an active shareholder on behalf of the State, ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability and value for money for the taxpayer.About the TeamThe role sits within a central corporate finance advisory team that provides financial and commercial advice to Government Ministers and Departments in relation to major State-owned commercial entities.The team's purpose is to support active ownership of public companies, overseeing financial performance, capital investment decisions, funding structures and long-term strategy.About the RoleThis role is suited to a high-calibre finance professional seeking broad exposure to corporate finance and advisory work within a commercial but public-interest environment.The successful candidate will work in a small, collaborative team, supporting oversight of a number of large, complex organisations from a shareholder perspective. The role combines private-sector best practice with a public-sector mandate.Key ResponsibilitiesAssisting with shareholder oversight of a number of large commercial organisationsReviewing and analysing annual reports, interim financials and business plansAssessing borrowing, funding and capital investment proposals submitted for approvalEvaluating acquisitions, disposals and joint venture proposalsMonitoring financial targets such as profitability, dividends, gearing and overall performanceConducting industry, competitor and market analysisSupporting oversight of climate and sustainability objectives, including decarbonisation strategiesContributing to the development and assessment of strategic initiatives to enhance shareholder valueBuilding financial models to support investment and strategic decisionsEngaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including Government Departments and senior executivesPreparing clear, accurate and commercially focused reports for senior decision-makersEducation & QualificationsDegree in a relevant discipline (e.g. finance, business, economics, accounting)Professional financial qualification is highly desirable (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA)ExperienceMinimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant financial roleCorporate financeProfessional services / advisoryCommercial finance in a large organisationSkills & CompetenciesStrong financial and commercial analysis capabilityExcellent problem-solving and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple workstreams effectivelyClear written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working independently and as part of a teamStrong Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
