Commercial Accountant/Part-Qualified Accountant

A multinational distribution business is seeking a
Commercial Accountant
to join its high-performing Finance team. This is a commercially focused role for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, turning numbers into insight, and influencing real business decisions.
The Opportunity
This role sits at the heart of the business, partnering closely with Sales, Commercial and Finance leaders to drive profitability. You will support a Finance Business Partner in analysing performance, identifying opportunities to improve margin, and helping the business make better, more profitable decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Performance Reporting
* Produce and analyse sales, margin and customer performance reports
* Design, maintain and improve dashboards and KPIs
* Provide analytics and insights to Sales and Commercial leadership
* Manage customer and supplier reporting
Margin & Profitability Analysis
* Identify opportunities to improve sales, margin and pricing
* Monitor margin improvement initiatives and price increases
* Reconcile margin, pricing, rebates and credits
* Perform price/mix variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
Overheads & P&L Support
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting of sales and marketing overheads
* Prepare overhead sections of the P&L
* Manage staff expenses, commissions and company car costs
* Account for marketing income and perform balance sheet reconciliations
Balance Sheet & Controls
* Reconcile rebate and control accounts
* Support clearance stock management
* Ensure accuracy and integrity of commercial balance sheet items
Business Partnering
* Support customer profitability reviews and cost-to-serve analysis
* Identify and help eliminate unprofitable business or processes
* Contribute to management and sector meetings with clear insights
* Support new business analysis, tenders and forecasting
* Deliver finance support and training to non-finance stakeholders
About You
Experience & Qualifications
* Studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification ACA/ACCA/CIMA
* IATI Qualified
* 1-3 years in a finance role
* Proven ability to translate data into clear actions or improvements
