Shift: This role requires flexibility, as the individual must be available to work various shifts.
Summary:
Reporting to the Facilities Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of all electrical equipment in manufacturing and plant areas, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. A key focus of this role is to minimize equipment downtime and optimize overall plant performance.
Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level technical support in a high-volume environment, working with and advising suppliers and engineers on product design to improve production efficiencies and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
* Troubleshoot equipment-related problems and failures to determine causes and implement repairs.
* Drive ongoing and preventative maintenance programs.
* Maintain accurate data for analysis on equipment performance.
* Support Engineering and Production teams on continuous improvements and monitor equipment to recommend and implement process enhancements.
* Adjust and calibrate instruments and equipment to ensure accurate readings and control.
* Read and interpret drawings, manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects utilizing lean and Six Sigma tools to enhance business efficiency.
* Encourage a culture of innovation by identifying solutions to process problems and promoting idea sharing among team members.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and participate in cross-functional teams to deliver process improvements.
* Follow safety protocols, use appropriate PPE, and maintain a safe working environment.
Education:
QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Electrical Craft
2-5 years of work experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical environment
Skills/Technical Knowledge:
* Demonstrated multi-skilling in previous roles.
* Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, especially in cross-functional teams.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools is advantageous.
* Good PLC programming skills and networking experience are required.
* Familiarity with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC programming is preferred.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting using software tools and diagnostic equipment is essential.
* Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems is an advantage.
* Experience with Vision Systems and Robotics is desirable but not essential.
