About the Role
A leading offsite construction and building services provider is seeking a BIM Technician to join their expanding design and BIM team. The company delivers innovative, prefabricated mechanical and electrical solutions across the UK and Europe, supporting a variety of commercial and public sector projects.
The BIM team is responsible for producing accurate, coordinated, and data-rich 3D models that support design, offsite manufacture, and onsite installation. By ensuring that all building services are fully integrated and clash-free, the team helps streamline construction, reduce errors, and improve collaboration across projects.
This entry-to-intermediate role offers excellent hands-on experience in digital design, prefabrication, and BIM workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in producing and maintaining 3D Revit MEP models for mechanical and electrical systems.
Support senior BIM staff in ensuring models are fully coordinated and clash‑free with architectural and structural elements.
Contribute to the preparation of combined models for internal design reviews and issue tracking using model collaboration software.
Update models to reflect design changes, markups, or fabrication revisions.
Assist in generating model exports and drawing sets for review and approval.
Documentation & Drawing Support
Produce clear and accurate 2D drawings from 3D models, including plans, sections, and elevations.
Support the creation of fabrication and installation drawings while maintaining quality and consistency.
Assist with version control and maintaining organized file structures in the project Common Data Environment (CDE).
Work closely with BIM Coordinators, Engineers, and Project Managers to exchange model information efficiently.
Participate in internal coordination meetings or digital model reviews when required.
Provide fabrication and site teams with current model data to support construction accuracy.
Professional Development
Engage in ongoing training for BIM software and workflows, including Revit and coordination platforms.
Learn and apply structured digital delivery processes based on industry standards.
Suggest improvements to modelling practices and team workflows to enhance efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
At least 1 year of experience in BIM, CAD, or MEP design (including internships or placement experience).
Proficient in Autodesk Revit for 3D modelling and coordination.
Familiarity with model review or clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks, Revizto).
Detail‑oriented with an interest in technical design and digital construction.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Relevant qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Digital Construction.
Experience creating or supporting fabrication‑level models or drawings.
Knowledge of prefabrication or offsite construction workflows.
Understanding of BIM data management and coordination processes.
