Job Opportunity:
Clear Links Support is recruiting for a Specialist Mentor to support students with disabilities, including autism spectrum condition and mental health conditions studying at City of Glasgow College.
The role involves working with further education students to provide strategies to develop their skills in managing the impact of their condition or impairment on their academic experience. This includes skills in acquiring, recalling, and retaining information in written and spoken language, as well as strategies to develop memory, organisation, attention, and numeracy skills.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing one-to-one support to students
* Developing strategies to improve academic performance
* Working collaboratively with students and other professionals
Requirements:
Applicants must have:
* A degree
* Membership of a relevant professional body, such as BACP, NCPS, HCPC, BPS, UKCP, COSCA, or UMHAN
* A relevant postgraduate qualification
* Professional experience supporting individuals with disabilities
It is desirable that applicants have experience in a similar role within the last five years. Applicants should also have an understanding of the impact of disabilities in the further/higher education context.
