Foamalite Ltd is a wholely owned subsidiary of 3A Composites Display Europe. It is the leading supplier of sheet materials for the field of visual communication supplying FOAMALITE (rigid foam plastic sheets) and LUMEX (transparent and translucent PET sheets).
The branded products are available from specialised distribution partners in the paper, plastics and metal industry, and are mainly used for direct-to-substrate digital printing, screen printing, photo mounting and applications in signs and displays, graphic arts, POS/ PPP advertising and exhibitions.
We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to provide technical support for the manufacturing process in our PVC and PET plant.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Monitor all aspects of the production process to ensure that full advantage is achieved by the company of all new R&D developments and ensure completed on time and in detail with procedures, processes and equipment.
* Identification and implementation of process related continuous improvements and improve product quality and increase Overall Equipment Efficiencies.
* Demonstrate strong leadership and a clear identifiable work ethos within the team and engage in the identification and resolution of corrective actions to any technical or manufacturing issues.
* Develop and maintain Behavioural Standards in line company standards and policy.
* Ensure financial budgets are followed.
* Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields costs and changeovers.
* Show results in reports and KPI's.
* Perform new colour and raw material testing on ongoing basis.
* Provide suggestions/support during incident investigations.
* Keep up to date with international trends/formulations.
* Support the establishment and monitoring of product quality standards and evaluations, implement adjustments or corrective actions to maximise first pass quality and reduce waste levels with all cost reduction initiates.
* Liaise with all the different department on project assignments to ensure the overall objectives of the company are achieved.
* Provide support to the Plant Manager in all aspects of running the business.
* Maintain product and company reputation by complying with all current regulations.
* Research in purchasing of new manufacturing technology.
Requirements:
* An Honours Degree in Polymer Engineering level 8 preferable
* Primary Degree in Process, Production, Manufacturing, Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering
* Previous experience in polymer materials and processes would be an advantage but is not essential
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Capable of working on own initiative and as part of a flexible team in a demanding environment.
* Ability to demonstrate and aptitude for operational and lean manufacturing processes with the ability to carry our accurate technical testing and reporting.
* Desirable – Lean Systems Green Belt (LSGB) Certified. Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) Certified.
