Overview
The AWS Networking is looking for best‑in‑class Network Development Engineers (NDE) to join our team to help deploy, scale and automate one of the world’s largest and complex networks. With Amazon Web Services, our goal is to become “The Infrastructure Platform” to the world. Our customers demand the highest quality and reliability for their services. Responsibilities
Be responsible for automation of deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and multiple AWS services
Deploy, scale and automate our network across multiple global data center and Transit center. This includes existing footprints and greenfield locations.
Drive scaling of current network designs to meet the demand of our customers.
Create simple, repetitive deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
Create and implement changes on the network.
Automate workflow and execution of deployments on a global scale
Work closely with our automation teams in transitioning and defining new tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Experience as a network engineer with deployments for large‑scale networks in a corporate environment and hands‑on experience in physical infrastructure installations including hardware integration, racking, and cabling
Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF
Experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby and/or PHP), or experience in managing and troubleshooting network and experience with automation and any version control tools
Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, or experience in managing and troubleshooting network and experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test-netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data center networking, including spine‑leaf architectures, optical transport, and high‑density cabling.
Familiarity with network automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, NAPALM, or similar).
Experience working with cloud networking concepts and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP networking services).
Knowledge of network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent) to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Experience collaborating cross‑functionally with software engineering, operations, and capacity planning teams to deliver network solutions.
Industry certifications such as CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent professional‑level networking certification
