* Strong knowledge
of Irish Health and Safety legislation, HSA codes of practice, and safety requirements.
* 3–5 years' experience in a
Health & Safety role
within the infrastructure, transport, construction, or utilities sectors.
* Relevant
Health and Safety qualification
(e.g., ISOH/NEBOSH equivalent).

ERTO, part of the EGIS Group, has operated in Ireland since 2005. We manage and maintain over 1,200 km of motorway infrastructure, including the Dublin, Jack Lynch, and Limerick Tunnels. Immediate Supervisor:
HSEQ Manager

Work Location:
Dublin Tunnel Control Building, East Wall Road D03NH33

Key Competencies:

* In-depth understanding of Irish
Health and Safety legislation
and regulatory frameworks.
* Strong communication, influencing, and coaching skills across operational and management levels.
* Analytical and detail-oriented approach to hazard identification and risk control.
* Proactive problem-solving, organisational, and reporting abilities.
* Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Key Responsibilities & Main Activities, including but not limited to:

Risk Management and Safe Systems of Work

* Conduct and review risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work for all operational and maintenance activities.
* Support supervisors and contractors in developing site-specific controls for tunnel operations, confined space work, and traffic management activities.
* Monitor and review the effectiveness of control measures and ensure all risks are managed in accordance with HSA guidelines and ERTO policies.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of ERTO's Health and Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 45001.

Health and Safety Compliance

* Ensure full compliance with:
* Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
* General Application Regulations 2007 (as amended)
* Construction Regulations 2013
* Assist in preparing documentation and reports for inspections or audits conducted by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII).
* Ensures that all processes and procedures are undertaken in line with Company Standards ISO 55001, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001

Incident and Accident Management

* Lead and support incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
* Maintain accurate and timely incident reports, ensuring follow-up and closure.
* Participate in emergency planning, drills, and post-incident reviews to improve emergency response procedures.

Auditing and Inspections

* Carry out regular site safety inspections and internal audits in accordance with the ERTO QESH Inspection Plan.
* Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliances, and issue corrective action reports.
* Support management and contractors in maintaining compliance with ERTO safety standards and statutory requirements.

Training and Safety Promotion

* Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training for ERTO employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Promote a positive and proactive safety culture, encouraging reporting, learning, and continuous improvement.
* Contribute to the development of safety communications and campaigns (e.g., "Target Zero", near-miss awareness, safe driving).

Liaison and Coordination

* Act as a point of contact for the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and other relevant regulatory or emergency agencies.
* Support the ERTO Health & Safety Committee and contribute to regular HSEQ performance reviews.
* Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure consistent safety standards across all operations.

Qualifications:

* 3–5 years' experience in a
Health & Safety role
within the infrastructure, transport, construction, or utilities sectors.
* Relevant
Health and Safety qualification
(e.g., ISOH/NEBOSH equivalent).
* Proven experience in
risk assessment, auditing, and incident investigation
.
* Strong knowledge
of Irish Health and Safety legislation, HSA codes of practice, and safety requirements.
* Familiarity with
ISO 45001
and quality/environmental systems (ISO 9001, ISO
* Full clean driving licence (required).
