Purchasing Officer We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Officerto join our growing team within a dynamic and fast-paced electrical contracting environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining efficient supply chain operations, working closely with project managers and site teams to drive cost-effective purchasing decisions while upholding quality and compliance standards.

Salary & Benefits: €40,000 Onsite parking in Dublin 15 Pension 21 Days Annual Leave Monday Friday 8am 4.30pm & Friday 8am 3.30pm Duties & Responsibilities: Order Processing: Raise, issue, and track Purchase Orders (POs) through the company's accounting system .
Supplier Liaison: Contact wholesalers and manufacturers to obtain quotes, confirm lead times, and negotiate pricing for electrical components like HV/LV wiring, connectors, and switchgear.
Documentation & Compliance: Match supplier invoices with POs and delivery notes (GRNs) to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies before payment.
Logistics & Expediting: Monitor delivery schedules to ensure materials arrive at specific project sites as needed.
Data Management: Maintain up-to-date supplier databases, price lists, and rebate trackers.
Returns Management: Coordinate the return of faulty or incorrect electrical stock to suppliers for credit.
On-Time Delivery: Orders reaching the site by the required date.
Cost Savings: Success in negotiating lower prices or identifying more cost-effective sourcing strategies.
Accuracy: Maintaining low rates of invoice discrepancies and order errors.
Essential Requirements: Familiarity with electrical materials (cables, conduit, distribution boards) and the ability to read material drawings is highly advantageous.
Strong MS Excel skills for price comparisons and experience with Sage 50 Accounts.
Ability to review supplier terms and negotiate better value procurement to support project budgets.
Precision in data entry and documentation is critical to avoid costly site shortages or financial errors.
Typically requires 13 years in a purchasing or administrative role, ideally within the construction or engineering sectors.
