About the Role
The Associate Director – Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) is a senior leadership role within Vantive’s Global EHS function. This role is responsible for driving best‑in‑class safety and occupational health performance across Vantive’s global footprint, including sites in the UK, Europe, the United States, LATAM and Asia.
Acting as a strategic and operational leader, you will shape and deliver global programmes that protect people, ensure regulatory compliance, and embed a harm‑free culture across all areas of the business. You will partner closely with senior leaders, engineering, operations, and site EHS teams to ensure consistent application of policies, effective risk reduction, and continuous improvement worldwide.
This is a highly visible, influential role requiring strong technical expertise, proven global leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex EHS concepts into meaningful business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy

Provide leadership to a global team of EHS professionals, ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Act as a senior EHS leader across all business areas, championing a harm‑free workplace culture.
Develop, implement, and drive consistent global EHS policies, procedures, and programmes.
Partner with business unit leaders, engineering teams and site leadership to ensure effective execution of safety and occupational health strategies.

Safety & Occupational Health Programmes

Design and deliver global safety and occupational health programmes informed by data, trends, and risk analysis.
Lead the organisation’s ergonomic design strategy to mitigate occupational health risks.
Integrate safety and occupational health design criteria into capital projects and engineering designs.
Lead and manage global programmes including (but not limited to):

Machine Guarding
Lockout / Tagout
Powered Industrial Trucks
Industrial Hygiene
Ergonomics


Governance, Risk & Assurance

Participate in internal and external audits to assess compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead management of change initiatives related to people, equipment, processes and operational changes.
Proactively identify, elevate, and mitigate risks that could impact employee health and safety or programme success.
Oversee the implementation of safety and occupational health requirements at new sites, R&D locations and acquisitions.

Analytics & Continuous Improvement

Provide robust data analysis, reporting and insight to inform decision‑making and drive measurable improvement.
Monitor global trends, scientific developments and emerging best practices in safety and occupational health.
Support the implementation and optimisation of digital EHS management systems.

Additional Responsibilities

Communicate technical solutions clearly and effectively to non‑technical audiences, including senior executives.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in safety, occupational health, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years’ experience as a people leader managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Safety, Science, Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional certifications are strongly preferred.
Deep technical knowledge of safety and occupational health; understanding of environmental compliance and sustainability is advantageous.

Global & Cross‑Cultural Expertise

Proven experience leading safety and occupational health programmes in large, multi‑site, global organisations.
Demonstrated experience working across Europe, Asia and/or Latin America.
Fluent English is essential; additional languages are an advantage.

Location & Working Arrangements

Fully remote role based in Ireland
Occasional international travel will be required
