Job Purpose
Responsible for maintaining our product specifications and ensuring that our food products meet our high standards of quality and safety
Reports To
Technical Services Manager
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date product specifications in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
Ensure all raw materials and finished products meet specifications and comply with quality and safety standards
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and external regulatory requirements
Participate in external audits, ensuring compliance with external standards and regulations
Work closely with other departments to ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accurate
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and safety
Review and approve artwork and packaging materials to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements
Participate in supplier audits and assessments to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials
Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to food safety, quality, and labelling
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation related to specifications, quality control, and auditing activities
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new products and/or changes to existing products

Skills / Qualifications / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
3 years + experience in a food manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of quality control and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and/or other relevant food safety and quality management systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and analytical skills
Experience in conducting internal audits is preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Knowledge of food legislation and labelling regulations in the UK and/or Ireland
Experience with retailer specifications systems (e.g., M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl)
Experience with food product development processes and project management
Experience with risk assessment and management processes (e.g., FMEA)
Experience with supplier management and auditing processes
Experience with food safety management systems (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC)
Familiarity with food laboratory testing methods and equipment

Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required. Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
