Sous Chef Role Overview
The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of culinary excellence and exceptional customer service.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and delivering a seasonal menu that showcases creativity and quality.
2. Supervise and motivate kitchen staff to deliver outstanding results, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
3. Maintain accurate portion control, waste management, and stock rotation to optimize resources and reduce costs.
4. Enforce rigorous food hygiene, allergen management, and health & safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
5. Liaise with front-of-house teams for seamless communication and service delivery.
Person Specification:
1. Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
2. Possession of formal culinary qualification is highly desirable.
3. Knowledge of food safety regulations (Level 2 Food Hygiene or higher) is essential.
