Multitask Attendant Technical Services Department PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Repair broken windows.
Maintain a flexible approach to performance of duties.
Light maintenance work and repairs including painting where necessary.
General cleaning duties in all areas, in particular areas accessed by the public.
Keeping Car Park or outbuildings and areas in which waste is stored in a clean and tidy condition.
Assist in the collection/transportation/assembly/dismantling of office equipment.
Assist in moving and relocating office furniture as required.
Maintain logs and records relating to works carried out.
Build and / or removal of shelving.
Use wheelbarrow, yard brush, shovel, etc.
Mix mortar in concrete mixer.
Clean external signage.
Resolve issues with doors, windows, skirting, door closers and locks within scope.
Install and repair of blinds.
Responsible for the safe keeping of all stores and equipment allocated to them for the purpose of carrying out their duties.
Cutting of any hedging and shrubs around property boundary.
Assist craftsmen.
Liaise with external contractors who may be engaged in any building works/renovations on site.
This may entail working overtime from time to time.
Comply with health and safety requirements.
Maintenance of Boiler Houses/Plantrooms, etc: Have knowledge of the building management systems within the properties.
Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all back of house areas that fall under the remit of the Technical Services Department.
Equipment and Supplies Maintenance: Maintain equipment in good working order.
Repair faulty equipment or minor repairs (within expertise) of chairs, window latches, door handles, etc.
Monitor and record usage of consumables.
Maintain building extraction and ventilation system including grilles cleaning.
Maintenance of External Grounds: Repair of blocked drains.
Clean guttering.
Power washing of paths, streets, buildings.
Upkeep of gardens and green areas, plants as necessary.
Assessment of any leaks within scope.
Patch macadam, tar and chippings.
Cleaning of car parks, footpaths, access roads and road gullies.
Clearing snow as well as gritting the drive, paths and any areas to which the visitors or staff have access.
Assist in fencing repair / installation, where needed.
Weed control around properties.
Spread gravel.
Use wheelbarrow, yard brush, shovel, etc.
Assess any issues with heating, lighting, ventilation, etc.
and liaise with maintenance foreman.
Maintenance of Internal and External Buildings: Painting of internal and external walls, doors, ceilings, skirting boards and window boards, etc.
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Medical Gases: Have a working knowledge of medical gases and their uses.
Maintain stock levels in stores including ordering and returns, safe storage and delivery to hospital as requested.
Maintain reserve or backup systems as required and monitor and replace bottles if applicable.
Provide cylinders as requested to various locations throughout the hospital including the provision to install necessary regulators if required.
Clinical and Non-clinical Waste: Assist as required in the collection and disposal of all waste streams as required.
Assist in the management and upkeep of all associated areas involved in waste collections and disposal.
General: Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by Manager.
Must comply with government and local policy guidelines pertaining to management of Covid-19 in the workplace.
Support, promote and actively participate in sustainable energy, water and waste initiatives to create a more sustainable, low carbon and efficient health service.
