Our client is a highly successful and rapidly growing alternative investment fund with approximately $1 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM). The firm manages capital on behalf of high-net-worth individuals and sophisticated investors across Ireland and the United States.
Operating from a small office in Dublin 2, the business forms part of a global investment platform with senior leadership located across Europe, Asia and the US.
Due to continued expansion, a newly created Financial Controller position has arisen to support the Head of Finance and help drive the finance function through its next phase of growth.
This is a broad and varied role offering exposure across all aspects of finance within a sophisticated investment management environment. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will gain hands‑on experience across financial reporting, taxation, payroll, audit coordination and day‑to‑day finance operations.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Head of Finance across all aspects of the finance function.
Prepare quarterly management reporting at both entity and consolidated level including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analysis.
Manage accounts payable process across the group including cash management and reconciliation.
Manage intra group billing of services and reconciliation of intra group and multi currency balances.
Act as main point of contact for fund administrator reporting queries.
Assist in preparation of annual financial statements under relevant IFRS and US GAAP.
Support the year end audit process, preparing audit files, responding to audit queries and coordinating with external auditors.
Oversee Irish company compliance including CRO filings.
Assist with US and Irish tax compliance with Head of Finance and external advisors – provision of accounting data, preparation of tax to book reconciliations, VAT returns, etc.
Maintain and enhance internal controls, procedures and documentation around accounting and tax processes.
Liaise with internal stakeholders (Trade Support and Investor Relations) and external service providers (administrators, tax advisors) to support regulatory and tax compliance.
Assist with regulatory reporting in BVI and US as required.
Contribute to finance projects and operational improvements as the business continues to grow.
Qualifications & Experience
Fully qualified accountant with Big 4 Training.
2-4 years post qualification experience in hedge funds, investment funds, asset management, financial services or alternative investments.
Strong technical accounting knowledge in IFRS and US GAAP.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulae) and good knowledge of accounting systems; experience with data/BI tools is a plus.
Familiarity with regulatory reporting, consolidations and multi‑entity structures would be an advantage.
