OEM Automation Engineer
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced PCS Automation Engineer to support a major pharmaceutical site expansion in Co.
Dublin.
This position provides exposure to advanced automation technologies within a world-class biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
The PCS Automation Engineer will contribute both technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the design, validation, and lifecycle management of automation systems used in manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in formulation processes, with deep knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms and integration of third-party systems within a GMP-regulated setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead automation activities for formulation, cleaning, and systems integration from design through commissioning and start-up
Design, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation PLC/SCADA/Batch systems
Support integration of automation layers with Pas-X MES
Develop and review URS, FDS, and other engineering documentation
Provide technical oversight and coordination with external system integrators
Execute IOQ protocols and support validation activities in compliance with GAMP and 21 CFR Part 11
Present project plans, progress updates, and key decisions to senior stakeholders
Maintain conformance to corporate and site-level automation standards and blueprint architecture
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety guidelines during project delivery
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, or a related field
Strong leadership, communication, and technical documentation skills
Ability to be on-site at least 3 days per week
Independent, proactive, and organised, with proven ability to collaborate within a project-driven team environment
