Customer Delivery Network Designer
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare high-quality network designs, calculate electrical loads, develop costs, and produce design drawings for LV to 38kV electricity networks.
2. Prepare scopes of work, costing templates, and safety documentation for network projects.
3. Record and update the distribution network on relevant IT systems.
4. Maintain a commercial focus by preparing least-cost technically acceptable designs.
5. Liaise with Local Authorities, landowners, and other parties to obtain routes for underground cables and overhead lines in accordance with legislation and policies.
6. Ensure compliance with legislation and policies regarding obtaining consent from landowners, issuing wayleaves, and arranging cable easements and forestry easements.
7. Apply for and process road opening and closure licenses as required.
8. Follow ESB's Code of Ethics and adhere to Health & Safety Legislation and Environmental Legislation.
9. Deliver excellent customer service in line with ESB Networks Customer Charter.
10. Fulfill the role of Designer under the Construction Regulations.
11. Develop an excellent knowledge of HV/MV/LV Electrical Networks depending on specific area of work and expertise.
12. Support the planning and execution of construction and maintenance work programs as required.
13. Utilize required IT systems such as SAP IWM, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD), SAP FMIS, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
14. Translate scope and policy requirements into constructable designs.
15. Implement standards and policies to ensure optimum design.
16. Possess knowledge of ESB network assets, including Substations, Lines, Cables, Protection, and Metering.
17. Have a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
18. Understand and apply relevant approved Quality Management standards in ESB Networks.
Locations
The positions will be based in Kerry/Limerick/Clare. Applicants not located in these areas are also invited to submit an application for consideration.
