Key Responsibilities
Lead process design activities including mass/energy balances, PFDs, P&IDs, hydraulic/pressure loss/relief calculations, capacity and utility analysis, equipment sizing, and process modelling for new and existing manufacturing systems.
Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve throughput, yield, safety, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
Support front end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, commissioning, and start up activities for advanced manufacturing facilities.
Conduct process hazard analyses (HAZOP, LOPA, ATEX) and ensure alignment with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Review conformity with relevant EU Directives – typically PED, ATEX, Machinery Directives.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, controls, and project management teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
Estimate, plan and schedule the discipline scope for a project.
Prepare technical documentation including specifications, design reports, operating procedures, and validation protocols.
Engage directly with clients to understand requirements, present design solutions, and support decision making throughout the project lifecycle.
Troubleshoot process issues and provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning phases.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of best practices within the Advanced Manufacturing team.
