Quantity surveyor

My client is a well-established main building contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the commercial, residential, mixed-use, industrial, and public sector markets. Due to continued growth in the Munster region, they are seeking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects in Limerick and the surrounding area.
Commercial & Cost Management
Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plansMonitor costs against budgets and report on cost value reconciliation (CVR)Assist with monthly valuations, applications for payment, and financial reportingTrack variations, change control, and potential risk items
Procurement & Subcontract Management
Assist with the procurement of subcontract packagesEvaluate tenders and prepare subcontract comparisonsSupport in drafting and administering subcontract agreementsMeasure and value subcontractor works and process paymentsAssist with the agreement of final accounts
Contract Administration
Work under standard forms of contract (RIAI / JCT / bespoke contracts)Assist in managing variations, extensions of time, and claimsMaintain accurate commercial records and correspondence
Project & Team Collaboration
Work closely with Site Managers, Engineers, and Design TeamsAttend site and commercial meetings as requiredProvide commercial input to support project decision-makingSupport senior commercial staff in project delivery
Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics4+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role with a main building contractorExperience working on medium to large-scale building projectsStrong understanding of cost control, procurement, and subcontract managementFamiliarity with Irish construction contracts and practicesStrong numerical, analytical, and organisational skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting toolsEligible to work in Ireland
Salary
Senior QS Salary €70k – €80k DOEBenefits package
