We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support our clients finance team with day-to-day transactional processing and month-end activities in Westport, Co Mayo.

The Role: Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and manage payment runs Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies Maintain the purchase ledger and assist with query resolution Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and cashbook maintenance Prepare and post journals including accruals and prepayments Support month-end close and reporting processes Assist with VAT returns and other HMRC submissions Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the accounting system Liaise with project managers and other departments regarding cost allocations and budget tracking Provide administrative support to the finance function as required Requirements: Minimum 2 years experience in a similar accounting or finance support role Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Experience with accounting software (e.g.
Sage, Xero, or similar) Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
