Direct Entry Engine Room Artificer (ERA) Role Overview
We are seeking highly skilled Maintenance Engineers and Technicians to join our team as Direct Entry Engine Room Artificers (ERAs). In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing critical onboard systems, including propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary machinery.
As a key member of our crew, you will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our vessels by performing preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and participating in emergency response operations at sea.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine maintenance tasks on engines, generators, and other equipment
* Diagnose and repair faults in complex mechanical and electrical systems
* Participate in emergency response operations, ensuring the safety of crew and passengers
Requirements:
To succeed in this challenging role, you will need:
* Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
* Character & Fitness: Meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards
* Age: 18–39 years on the date of application
* Qualifications (or national equivalent): HETAC Level 7 in Marine or Mechanical Engineering QQI Advanced Certificate Craft in: Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitting Diesel Fitting Motor Mechanics Department of Marine & Natural Resources Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) Certificate of Competency

Recruitment Process:
The recruitment process includes a fitness test, competency-based interview, medical exam, and Garda vetting. Assessments will take place at the Naval Base, Haulbowline Island, Cork.
