Clinical Nurse Specialist – DementiaAltraspeisialtóir Cliniciúil - Néaltrú(Grade Code: 2632)HSE Mid-West – FSS Íarthar LáírThe current vacancy is specified purpose and full-time at University Hospital Limerick.A panel may be formed from this campaign for Clinical Nurse Specialist – Dementia, HSE Mid West Acute Services, which may be used to fill current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time roles.Eligibility CriteriaCandidates must, by the closing date for applications:1. Statutory Registration, Qualifications, Experience(a) Eligible applicants will be those who, on the closing date:(i) Are registered nurses on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann or are eligible for registration.And(ii) Are registered in the General division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) register relevant to the application, or are eligible for such registration.Or(iii) In exceptional circumstances, assessed on a case-by-case basis, are registered in another division of the register.And(iv) Have at least 1 year of post-registration full-time experience, or an equivalent of 1 year in the relevant division of the register.And(v) Have at least 1 year of post-registration full-time experience, or an equivalent in the specialist area of Dementia Care.And(vi) Have completed a post-registration programme of study, verified by the education provider, achieving a QQI Level 9 or higher award relevant to the specialist area (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above), or provide evidence of equivalent ECTS credits, in line with the standards set by the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery (2008).Alternatively, provide written evidence from a Higher Education Institute of equivalent ECTS credits relevant to the specialist area of care.Note: For nurses/midwives with a Level 8 qualification in the specialist area, recognition is valid until September 2026.And(i) Demonstrate ongoing professional development relevant to the specialist area.And(ii) Have the ability to practice safely and effectively within their scope of practice.Note 1: Candidates with a Level 8 qualification in the specialist area will have their qualification recognized until September 2026.And(a) Possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and capacity, including clinical, leadership, managerial, and administrative abilities, for the role.2. Annual Registration(i) Maintain active registration in the relevant division of the NMBI register.(ii) Confirm annual registration with the NMBI via the PSAC.3. HealthMust be fully competent and in good health to perform the duties of the role.4.
