AWS (AIS) Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented individuals to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. Responsibilities
* Producing design specifications, marking up and checking design drawings, supporting on-site activities (technical submittal reviews, answering RFIs, etc.), site inspections, equipment qualifications, and presenting designs to stakeholders (page turns).
About the team
The team consists of Electrical Engineers with design engineering backgrounds (typically with consulting engineering experience), and many ex-electricians with practical knowledge of the systems they design.

Basic qualifications
* Degree in Electrical Engineering with experience in power systems and mission-critical electrical design.
* Excellent understanding of European Electrical Codes with detailed knowledge of critical LV, MV, and HV electrical equipment.
* Understanding of relays, protection schemes, high-voltage circuit breakers, power and distribution transformers, switchgear, grounding and earthing; ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
* Ability to carry new design concepts from exploration through development to deployment/construction; ability to perform complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and present the justification to management at a high level.
Preferred qualifications
* Chartered Engineer with a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and experience directly related to data center or mission-critical facility design.
* Experience in consultant negotiation and management related to design, construction, and project management of fast-track design/build projects or multiple significant upgrade projects.
* Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations and the ability to think creatively to reduce costs without impacting quality, reliability, or maintainability.
* Leadership and problem-solving skills as a motivated, dependable individual.
