About the Role:
EPS Group has an immediate vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our Contracts team from our Mallow head office.
As part of our growing team, you will be responsible for electrical engineering activities on Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plants, Water Treatment Plants, pumping stations, and Data Centre Water Treatment Projects across Europe.
Your activities will vary daily and will be coordinated with the Contracts Manager. You will support the design team through to onsite installation and commissioning.
This role offers varied and challenging experiences, providing invaluable exposure to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting and system integration.
* Review electrical designs to identify gaps, deviations, or contradictions.
* Validate cable sizing and recommend adjustments.
* Compile and issue technical submittals.
* Ensure compliance with electrical codes (NSAI Irish Standard I.S. 10101:2020 IEC, WIMES), safety, and environmental standards.
* Manage electrical project aspects and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
* Review electrical installation with the BIM team to ensure constructibility and maintenance access.
* Coordinate with design and supply chain teams to ensure system compliance.
* Manage vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion.
* Develop Site Instruction Packs, Handover Packs, and Test Packs as needed.
* Attend quality meetings and participate in QA/QC walk downs.
* Address technical queries related to specifications, drawings, materials, and equipment.
* Issue requisitions and verify material deliveries against specifications.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including automation, mechanical, civil, and process engineers.
Key Competencies and Skills:
* Experience with 3-phase industrial installations, including motors, starters, control panels, PLCs, and instrumentation.
* Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Trimble for electrical design/layout.
* Strong knowledge of Safe Electric certification.
* Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in teams.
* Leadership and responsibility in project completion.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent with experience.
* Full EU/Irish driving license.
