Job Description – Pilates & Yoga Lead
Location: Claregalway Hotel, Claregalway, Co. Galway

Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week on a flexible 5-day roster over 7 days (including evenings and weekends as required)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, client-focused, and operationally strong Pilates Lead to manage the day-to-day running of our new Core Fitness Pilates & Wellness Studio at Claregalway Hotel.
This role combines expert Pilates & Yoga instruction with operational leadership across:
- Class delivery & client engagement
- Technology & booking platform management
- Instructor team scheduling & mentoring
- Calendar planning & event coordination
- Monitoring, evaluation, and performance reporting
The Pilates Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping the studio experience, ensuring the highest standards of instruction, organisation, and customer care.
Key Responsibilities1. Pilates & Yoga Instruction & Client Experience
* Deliver dynamic reformer and mat Pilates classes suitable for all fitness levels.
* Tailor modifications for individual needs and track member progress.
* Conduct client assessments and onboarding consultations where required.
* Build a strong client community to enhance loyalty and retention.
2. Technology & Booking Management
* Manage the studio's booking and membership system (e.g., Mindbody, Glofox, or similar).
* Oversee class scheduling, waitlists, cancellations, and occupancy reporting.
* Monitor booking trends and produce weekly reports on attendance, retention, and revenue.
* Ensure smooth integration of bookings with wider hotel systems and processes.
3. Calendar & Event Coordination
* Maintain the master studio calendar, including:
* Daily class schedules
* Workshops & guest instructor sessions
* Wellness events & seasonal promotions

o Collaborate with hotel marketing to promote programmes via social media, newsletters, and digital channels.
4. Staff Leadership & Scheduling
* Lead, mentor, and develop the Pilates instructor team, maintaining consistently high teaching standards.
* Prepare and manage staff rotas based on demand, ensuring full coverage for classes, private sessions, and special events.
* Conduct regular performance check-ins, feedback sessions, and training workshops.
* Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews for new instructors.
5. Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
* Implement a structured monitoring and evaluation framework to track class and instructor performance.
* Carry out class observations and provide feedback to ensure safe, engaging, and consistent delivery.
* Gather client feedback and analyse trends to inform programme improvements.
* Track instructor KPIs, including:
* Class occupancy
* Client retention
* Satisfaction scores

o Produce monthly reports for management on studio performance, opportunities, and challenges.
6. Business Growth & Member Engagement
* Develop innovative programmes, challenges, and community events to boost engagement.
* Support membership campaigns and package promotions alongside hotel marketing.
* Strengthen relationships with members to encourage referrals and long-term retention.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Certified Pilates Instructor / Yoga Instructor
- At least 3 years' experience teaching reformer and mat Pilates.
- Experience with booking platforms and class scheduling systems.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as part of a 5-day roster over 7 days.
Desirable:
- Experience as a Lead Instructor, Studio Coordinator, or similar leadership role.
