We're working with a large, complex organisation that is looking to hire an experienced
Category Sourcing Expert (IT)
to join their sourcing function on a
12-month contract
. This is a hybrid role based in
Dublin or Limerick
, offering exposure to enterprise-scale IT sourcing and senior stakeholder engagement.
The Role
As Category Sourcing Expert, you'll lead end-to-end sourcing activity across IT and technology categories, partnering closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver best total value. You'll manage the full sourcing lifecycle, from spend analysis and market research through to negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management.
This role suits someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, juggling multiple categories and projects while influencing at senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute strategic sourcing initiatives across IT categories
* Manage the full sourcing lifecycle: spend analysis, market research, RFx, bid analysis, contract negotiation and supplier performance
* Negotiate commercial terms for new and renewal agreements (e.g. master agreements, cloud contracts, SOWs, order forms)
* Partner with internal stakeholders to define requirements and guide supplier selection
* Work cross-functionally with Legal, Tax, Contract Management and other policy teams
* Lead and participate in supplier negotiations at senior management level
* Analyse financial and commercial data to identify cost and value opportunities
* Manage multiple sourcing projects concurrently in an agile environment
* Support supplier relationship management for key strategic suppliers

Essential Experience
* Degree or equivalent relevant experience
* Proven experience in category sourcing, supplier management or procurement
* Project and stakeholder management across complex, multi-geography environments
* Experience leading negotiations and supplier discussions
Desirable Experience
* Strategic sourcing experience within IT or technology categories
* Strong negotiation, cost management and analytical skills
* Understanding of commercial contracting terminology
* Experience with tools such as Ariba, SAP, Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace
* Professional certifications (CIPS, CPSM, CPM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma)
