Senior Technology Engineer - Unix /Linux expert Contract position, 6 months, Hybrid: 2 days a week onsite in Dublin City Center.
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Unix/Linux expert (permanent) to manage day-to-day Linux and Unix service requirements.
This will include strategic direction and project-related activities, including day-to-day service delivery requirements to support our businesses.
This role is also focused on automation using tooling like ansible, Terraform, and Dev Ops for application deployment, patching, and builds.
Team Background This role sits within our Configuration Team and reports to our Configuration Team Manager as part of Technology Services for Europe This team oversees the delivery and continuous improvement of core IT Infrastructure Services, where Linux and Unix are key infrastructure components.
This also includes managing service issues relating to Incidents, Problems, and Change, while also strengthening stakeholder relationships and driving service excellence.
Focus on automation and simplification of processes and delivery More specific responsibilities will include: Review and deploy change/release tickets, ensuring thorough planning and risk evaluation.
Deliver Patching and Support of Unix, Linux on a monthly basis to cater to Risk Deliver deployments, patching and Server build processes using tooling in Ansible, Terraform, Power Shell, AWX, and Dev Ops A strong knowledge in Unix HMC and Linux Satellite including the above development tooling required Collaborate with leadership on strategic improvements in governance, reporting, and compliance.
Support reporting and data analysis for compliance.
Assist team members in growing out knowledge on the platforms within What youll need to be successful on the role: 5+ yearsin IT Infrastructure delivery strong ITIL experience in Linux and Unix Proven success in customer-facing rolesand stakeholder communication.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure delivery & processes.
Certifications: Red Hat Certification, Unix Certification, Ansible Certification, AWX Certification, Azure Certificationare advantageous.(NOT A MUST) Strong familiarity in the following Technologies Linux, Unix, Dev Ops pipeline deployments, Azure, AWS, Terraform, Power Shell, Satellite, HMC Scanner Familiarity with ITSM toolslike Service Now, Remedy, JIRA, Dev Ops Key Competencies Building and maintain relationships Communication and influencing Problem Solving and decision making Innovation & Change in process improvement Drive for results Leadership Skills: Unix Linux Terraform ansible Unix HMC Linux Satellite AWX
