Digital Platforms Manager
Contract:
Specified Purpose Contract (Maternity leave cover)
Reporting to:
Head of Cinema Programming
Salary scale:
The salary for this role will be €35,000 per annum.
Progression to higher levels is based on performance as outlined in our competency framework.

Overview of the IFI
The Irish Film Institute is Ireland's national cultural institution for film.
At the IFI's historic home in Eustace Street, Temple Bar, our diverse audiences, and loyal members enjoy our 3 cinemas, IFI Irish Film Archive's research and access facilities, IFI Film Shop and IFI Café Bar; and our four digital streaming platforms, IFI@Home, IFI Archive Player, IFI@Schools and IFI International.The IFI has developed strategic objectives around three core activities:
EXHIBIT:
Providing audiences throughout Ireland with access to the finest independent, Irish, and international cinema.
PRESERVE:
Preserving and promoting Ireland's moving image heritage through the IFI Irish Film Archive
EDUCATE:
Providing opportunities for audiences of all ages and backgrounds to learn and critically engage with film through IFI Education

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Platform Management & User Experience
Curating the audience journey through all IFI online platforms.
Liaising with various departments on programme priorities and ensuring relevant areas are promoted at the relevant time.
Creating project plans and managing any new project workflows associated with the Platforms, liaising and agreeing timelines with all relevant departments.
Ensure all content is uploaded and unpublished at the correct time.
Manage all customer service related to platform, whether it be public facing, or liaising with the relevant contact point.
Ensuring all aspects of the customer journey are cohesive and engaging.
Managing, monitoring, flagging and dealing with any potential issues that arise on IFI Platforms.
Ensuring quality design is applied to all platforms, keeping within IFI brand values.
Writing high quality, engaging and informative copy on films if needed.
Working with the Head of Cinema Programming to develop a cohesive IFI Platforms Strategy, ensuring a customer journey throughout all offerings is clear.
Line manage Digital Platforms Assistant.
Analytics & Marketing
Working with the Marketing team to develop search engine optimisation (SEO) strategies to increase number of visitors to all platforms by getting high-ranking placements in search results.
In consultation with relevant IFI staff, curating any supplementary content for each platform when required.
Collating and presenting analytics across all platforms for relevant departments when needed.
Clearing copyright with content rights holders and updating the rights information database if required.
Writing high quality, engaging and informative copy on films if needed.
Using online analytics to ensure that all players is constantly engaging with a wide spread of audiences and regular reporting to the Marketing team on all platform metrics.
Any other duties as deemed appropriate by Head of Cinema Programming.
Tech and Admin
Managing, Monitoring, flagging & dealing with any potential issues that arise on IFI Platforms.
Ensuring all relevant file formats, media and supplementary assets are uploaded in a timely manner.
Ensuring all financial information needed for each platform is accurate and as agreed with relevant departments.
Ensuring that all assets are QC'd in appropriate time and any issues dealt with.
Clearing copyright with content rights holders and updating the rights information database.
Liaising with sales agents/filmmakers if necessary to ensure assets are of agreed quality and any agreements are fully carried out on both sides.
Manage all 3rd party system providers ensuring agreements and all systems working efficiently.
Skills and experience required:
Proven experience coordinating digital platforms and delivering clear, engaging user journeys.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workflows and stakeholders.
Excellent editorial judgement and content management skills, including copywriting and rights clearance.
Experience using digital analytics and SEO to support audience development and platform growth.
Solid technical understanding of digital media formats, asset management, and quality control.
Ability to manage third-party providers,, and operational processes effectively.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
