The Role Listowel Credit Union is seeking applications from individuals interested in an entry-level role in a financial services environment and wishing to utilise their existing education (ideally in business or financial services) within a community-based organisation.
Applicants should be motivated to learn and develop cross functional skills, committed to achieving high standards, and be willing to complete qualifications in line with the Central Bank of Irelands (CBI) minimum competency requirements.
The role is a fulltime, 6-month fixed term contract, based in Listowel, with requirement to travel and work in our Ballybunion office.
TheMember Service Officer will report to the Member Service Manager and will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class standard of member service in a front-line and back-office environment.
Responsibilities will include processing day to day financial transactions (loans, insurance), handling member queries, and providing information and support.
The key purpose of the role is to assist and support members efficiently, promote credit union products and services, and ensure a professional, member-focused experience that drives satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
Role Requirements Hold or be open to completing the Central Bank Minimum Competency Qualification required for the role (QFA / CUA Loans).
Training and financial support will be provided.
Ideally one year of experience within a customer facing environment, preferably within a financial regulated entity.
Member focused, with a proven track record delivering exemplary member service, maintain accurate, concise records in line with relevant data policies/procedures aligned to regulatory and legislative requirements.
Excellent verbal, numerical and written skills, ability to update member data in line with Anti Money Laundering Legislation.
Communicate effectively and sensitively when responding to members face to face, on the phone and through email.
Detail oriented and well organized, able to work on own initiative.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications, along with good keyboard skills.
A problem solver, with the ability to handle escalations effectively.
Flexible and adaptable to learn and work on different tasks, in different situations.
Approachable and friendly, with good teamwork and collaboration.
Promote a culture that reflects the Credit Unions values and encourages good performance and excellent member services.
Full clean driving licence and access to own transport for travel throughout the branch network.
