Role Overview
The Director of Sales – Automation will be responsible for leading MMT’s automation sales strategy across Ireland, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share. This senior leadership role will require a proven track record in automation sales, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
The successful candidate will lead the sales function, work closely with technical program directors, and collaborate with executive leadership to shape MMT’s market positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Define and execute the sales strategy for automation solutions across Ireland.
Lead, manage, and mentor the automation sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners.
Drive business development activities, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
Conduct market analysis, with a focus on competitor insights, to guide business growth strategies.
Collaborate closely with Program Technical Directors and other senior leaders to ensure seamless client engagement and delivery alignment.
Represent MMT at client meetings, industry events, and conferences.
Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and performance reporting to executive leadership.
Travel regularly between Galway and Cork sites, ensuring strong visibility and leadership across both locations.
Key Requirements
Proven leadership experience in sales, ideally at Director or Senior Manager level, within automation or related high-tech industries.
Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in automation solutions.
Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical solutions into customer value.
Deep understanding of the Irish and European automation/medical device market landscape.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead high-performing sales teams.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Flexibility to travel frequently between MMT’s Galway and Cork offices and to client sites as required.
