We provide a wide range of person centered services including residential, respite and day services to almost 400 children and adults with an intellectual disability in the south Dublin area.
The role :Person in charge | 37.5 Hours weekly | Specified Purpose ContractPurpose of the Post:The primary role of the CNM1 is to effectively lead and manage a team of health and social care professionals to ensure delivery of the highest quality residential service.
This is a full time (37.5hr) contract.
Shift pattern includes a minimum of 4 days per week, mixture of long and short days.In line with the strategic priorities and values of Cheeverstown, the Service User is placed at the center of our circle of supports.
Therefore, flexibility in your working location is required in order for the people we support to achieve their individual desired goals and live full and meaningful lives.Applicants must be agreeable to support the transition of campus-based residents to supported living in the community.Person specification:Applications are invited from candidates who are currently registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in the RNID Division, with a minimum of 3 years' post registration experience, preferably in Intellectual DisabilityApplications from other nurses registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland will also be consideredPrevious management experience and a recognised Qualification in managementHave the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.Candidates will possess a high level of communication skills and strong command of English language (both verbally and written)A flexible approach to hours to meet the needs of the service is essential, roster requirements include days, sleep over, nights and weekendsFlexible, responsive to a person-centered approach and the individual needs and abilities of the personCandidates should be proficient in I.T.Knowledge of the current HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013One years' experience supporting people with an intellectual disability is desirable.Full driver's license and access to use of own car.Ability to lead a teamOther requirements specific to the post:Management experience and good leadership ability and team building skillsPossess knowledge of developments in HSE Social Care PolicyStrong skills in networking and promoting community inclusion and social outcomes.Knowledge of Irish HealthcareKnowledge of HIQA/Safer better healthcare standardsStrong awareness of Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at risk of AbuseStrong understanding of the Assisted Decision Making (Capacity) Act, with the knowledge to exercise this in carePlease note: All job offers are subject to two successful references, ongoing Garda Vetting, relevant qualifications, a satisfactory pre-employment medical and completion of mandatory training both online and onsite.
Salary is in accordance with HSE CNM1 August 2025 consolidated pay scales, depending on qualifications and experience.
