Stericycle – Maintenance EngineerResponsible for day‑to‑day plant maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime through preventive and reactive procedures aligned with site‑specific schedules. Optimise plant availability while complying with HSE legislation and WID regulations, prioritising planned and breakdown maintenance and contributing to shutdown and capital works planning.First‑line breakdown/defect repairs and support to Shift Supervisors.Monitor plant safety and report engineering concerns.Maintain plant maintenance documentation and statutory/non‑statutory testing.Review and update site maintenance procedures.Maintain workshop area, spares availability and audit stock lists.Provide frontline maintenance support during out‑of‑hours engineering support group.Liaise on improvement initiatives for company equipment.Complete maintenance logs and stand in for Shift Supervisor when required.EducationRequired: High School or equivalent.Preferred: Bachelor’s or equivalent.Experience3+ years in mechanical engineering maintenance, with formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (City & Guilds or equivalent). Experience on waste‑to‑energy plant steam systems, hydraulics maintenance, pneumatic systems, welding (MMA/MIG/TIG), Oxy/propane cutting and electrical fault‑finding. We value diversity, provide support for disabilities and comply with legal requirements.Facilities & Maintenance Technician / Engineer – Data CentreOperate, monitor, and maintain critical building systems, focusing on electrical infrastructure (LV distribution, UPS, generators, etc.).Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across systems including switchgear, power distribution, BMS, and backup power.Support general maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and other building services as needed.Participate in a 24/7/365 on‑call rotation with the engineering team.Conduct regular inspections and ensure all plant rooms and electrical equipment meet safety, compliance, and operational standards.Troubleshoot and respond to system faults, ensuring prompt resolution of electrical and building services issues.Use BMS and CMMS for task tracking and issue resolution.Supervise and coordinate subcontractors during project work, equipment upgrades, or system shutdowns.Contribute to energy efficiency, system reliability, and workplace safety initiatives.Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and industry standards.Minimum QualificationQQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft Electrical.RequirementsProven experience working in data centres, telecoms, or other critical infrastructure environments.Strong technical understanding of electrical systems (LV distribution, UPS, standby generators) and supporting systems (chillers, pumps, HVAC, mechanical services).Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills in complex systems.Clear communicator with a proactive, safety‑first mindset.Desirable SkillsExperience working in regulated environments (GMP, cleanrooms, healthcare).Additional trade certifications (e.g. refrigeration, plumbing).Familiarity with industry safety standards (HSE, OSHA, etc.).Knowledge of clean utilities or lab systems is a plus.Whats on OfferCompetitive salary package: €50,000‑€60,000.Company vehicle provided.Career progression opportunities with access to ongoing training and certifications.Exposure to advanced critical infrastructure and cutting‑edge technical systems.Supportive team culture in a respected industry leader.Equal opportunity employer.
