OverviewAn established, highly accredited laboratory services organisation is seeking a Quality Manager to lead its Quality Management System across microbiology and chemistry testing operations. This role has been created as part of planned succession, with a structured handover and support period to ensure long-term success.Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining compliance, strengthening quality culture, and contributing to site-level strategy and decision-making.ResponsibilitiesLead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and accreditation body requirementsAct as the primary quality contact for clients, regulators, and external auditorsLead internal, client, and accreditation audits; manage CAPAs, change control, and document governanceMonitor quality metrics, non-conformances, trends, and KPIs to drive measurable improvementsPrepare and present quality performance reports to senior managementCollaborate closely with laboratory leadership to ensure robust SOPs, validations, and testing integritySupport training, competency, and proficiency testing across laboratory teamsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on turnaround times, service delivery, and customer satisfactionContribute actively to the site leadership team, supporting strategic and operational goalsWhat You BringProven experience in a Quality leadership role within a laboratory environmentStrong working knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and accreditation requirementsExperience supporting or leading audits, inspections, and quality investigationsAbility to align quality objectives with broader business and operational strategyCollaborative mindset with the confidence to influence across functionsCommitment to continuous improvement and regulatory excellenceDegree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline (Master’s advantageous)5+ years in laboratory quality or QA roles, including leadership responsibilityExperience within food or environmental testing laboratories strongly preferredFamiliarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA, EPA, or equivalentWhy JoinThis is a senior, visible role with genuine influence—offering the opportunity to shape quality strategy, support a growing organisation, and lead a mature QMS within a highly regulated testing environment.
