We are looking for new cheesemongers and cafe assistants (no previous experience needed) to work in our lovely shop, cafe and wine bar in Carnaross, Co. Meath.
We are looking for people who can sell great cheese, make connections between producers and consumers, share stories, taste the food, and share knowledge and experience.

Job Description
JOB TITLE: Cheesemonger, Cafe and Winebar Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Meath
* Key responsibilities
Learn about and educate customers on Sheridans Cheesemonger's products and services, Irish & European artisan cheese and food producers, and current product ranges including dairy, deli, ambient categories.
Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment, assist with queries, and help customers navigate the website.
Receive product deliveries, organize storage, describe tastes, flavors, textures, and pairings, and maintain cheese quality and displays.
Ensure food safety standards, record HACCP documents, and manage allergen information.
Prepare and display cheese, maintain signage and seasonal hampers, and manage stock rotation and waste reduction.
Report issues, update records, participate in stocktaking, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, cafe, and wine bar.
Assist with wine recommendations, organize promotions, tastings, and events, and perform ad hoc duties as directed.
Operations
* Ensure HACCP compliance, maintain cleanliness, and update safety records.
* Manage inventory, process deliveries, and perform stock takes.
* Ensure correct storage of wine, cheese, and other products.
* Maintain product displays and participate in promotions and events.
* Address quality and safety issues promptly.
* Perform other tasks to support business needs.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role and in food and wine retail preferred. Knowledge of wine, hospitality, or vineyard experience advantageous. HACCP and WSET training preferred but not essential. Certification as a sommelier or hospitality degree desirable. Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills required.
