My client, a leading Semi-State body at the forefront of Ireland's clean energy transition, is seeking a BER Building Data Engineer to play a key role in transforming how we understand and manage building energy performance across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
13. Lead data-driven projects to support Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPs) under the recast EPBD
14. Manage research and analysis to support BER framework improvements and regulatory compliance
15. Improve the BER framework (methodology, software & systems, operations) through data-led insights
16. Design, develop, and maintain management dashboards using Power BI
17. Collaborate on the development and enhancement of energy performance calculation methodologies
18. Support the delivery of BER certificates, digital logbooks, NZEB/ZEB standards, and related outputs
19. Work closely with software teams to integrate methodologies into BER tools (e.g., DEAP, NEAP)
20. Engage with BER assessors and operations staff to improve service quality and consistency
21. Represent the programme in industry forums and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
22. Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all BER pillars
Knowledge & Skills:
23. Proven experience with data analytics, data governance, and reporting (Power BI, SQL, relational databases)
24. Strong knowledge of building performance regulations (e.g. EPBD, Irish Building Regulations)
25. Proficient in Python or R for data processing
26. Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly
27. Strong stakeholder engagement and team collaboration capabilities
28. Project management experience, including risk, cost, and scope management
29. Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
30. Minimum NFQ Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Architecture, Data Analytics)
31. Minimum 4 years' experience in building performance, energy consultancy, or data engineering
32. Advanced Power BI, SQL, and scripting skills (Python or R)
33. Project management capability and stakeholder engagement skills
34. Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment
35. Certification in Power BI or Microsoft Azure (required)
36. Desirable: BER Assessor cert, DEAP/NEAP knowledge, CRM integration experience (Dynamics 365), PMP certification
37. Strong understanding of building energy systems
