Accountant required to cover a maternity contract
Role reports into Accounts Manager
Qualifications
1. Qualified accountant of 3 years or more
2. Have audit experience
3. Proficiency in use of MS Excel and Word
4. Ability to organize work effectively and meet deadlines
5. Demonstrated analytical and communication skills
6. Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Ambitious and driven.
9. Have own transport
Responsibilities
10. Assisting in the preparation of monthly accounts from initiation right through to sign off in the area of profit & loss, balance sheet
11. Preparation of Monthly Accruals/Prepayment/Stock Journals
12. Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Nominal Analysis
13. Preparation of quarterly accounting information, to include Cost Centre/Departmental Reporting
14. Monitoring compliance with corporate policies, re Cash Management
15. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Cash Reconciliations from various depots
16. Preparation / filing VAT3/VAT RTD/Intra Stat and other statutory returns
17. Preparation of monthly cash reports.
18. Preparation of budgets / forecasts.
19. Work individually and as part of a team to generate efficiency in the use of finance-related IT systems, utilising the ERP and consolidation systems to their full potential
20. Other ad hoc duties/projects as may arise
