Post Summary:
The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking to appoint a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to conduct research in the area of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, specifically on the project entitled "Inhalable formulations of novel gallium compounds for the treatment of lung infections**".
The project is part of the Research Ireland ARC Hub for Therapeutics (ARC Hub for Therapeutics) and involves collaboration between Professors Anne Marie Healy and Carsten Ehrhardt of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Trinity College Dublin (TCD) and collaborators in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Maynooth University and the University of Pisa, Italy.
The aim of this project is to develop effective antimicrobial therapies which can be efficiently delivered to the lungs to treat infections that may be resistant to oral therapy.
The Research Fellow in TCD will be responsible for undertaking biopharmaceutical studies on human lung cells in vitro and formulation development work for lead compounds.
The successful candidate will ideally take up the position on 1st October 2025.
