We are recruiting a Food Safety & Quality Own Brand Technical Specialist.

Location: Dublin

Permanent, Full Time 37.5hour Contract.

Food Safety & Quality Support of Direct Sourcing Initiatives (Own Brand products direct from Manufacturing site). Ensuring Own Brand Product Food Safety & Quality standards are met at key stages along the supply chain, including source, supplier, warehouse, retailer and consumer. These activities are aligned with the wider Food Safety & Quality department plans.

What you'll be doing:

* Drive improvements in FS&Q performance of suppliers and products assigned to the role.
* Conducting scheduled supplier technical visits and product integrity audits to assess products and process controls across our supply base in Ireland, UK and Europe.
* Resolving Supplier & Product non-conformances and complaints- Effectively investigate and close-out issues/complaints or escalate to Manager in a timely fashion
* Facilitating measuring & reduction of Supplier KPIs assigned to the role - namely rejections, retailer claims, complaints, etc.
* Issuing performance reports to key stakeholders.
* Proactively managing product performance through programmes of ongoing internal and external product assessment and inspection including but not limited to the following.
* Incoming product assessment in accordance with agreed testing schedules, procedures & specifications
* Assessment of product against finished product specifications, ensuring effective closure of non-conformances with suppliers.
* Assess product performance at store level, ensuring key food safety and quality criteria are being met.
* Verification of product shelf life.
* Comparison testing with competitors and benchmarking.
* Conducting store visits / store calls on a weekly basis to assess product performance – ensuring effective close-out of any issues reported.
* Follow up, and close out of relevant Retailer Queries, as per Remedy Force, and ensuring that Retailers SLA is adhered to.
* Technical Support to Musgrave direct sourcing initiatives.
* Implementation of food safety and quality initiatives assigned to this role.
* Completion of Project work as directed by the Food Safety and Quality Team to improve Food Safety and Quality initiatives within the business.
* Contributing to the delivery of the FS&Q strategy by positively engaging across the FSQ team as well as cross- functionally / Divisionally.
* Completion of FS&Q Department projects in the timelines set out.
* Contributing to the delivery of the business strategy by participating in strategic initiatives and change projects.

What we're looking for:

* Science/ Food Science Qualification Essential – Diploma level at a minimum.
* Minimum 1 years QA/QC experience in Food Manufacturing environment is desirable.
* Computer literate
* Flexibility, quick learner, problem solver, good communication, high attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Have the ability to work on one's own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Full Driving Licence
* Car Owner
