Meet the Team
Fair City is a prime-time serial drama comprising 200 episodes per year, broadcasting on RTÉ One, and is a cornerstone of RTÉ One's schedule and is the primary series in the channel's drama output. Drama in Video now wishes to hire a Story Room Assistant.
The Story Room Assistant has a key administrative role within the Fair City story production office, providing support to the story writing personnel and liaising between the Story Department, Production and Script Department. Reporting to the Series Producer, the Story Room Assistant works to the Series Consultant and is responsible for ensuring that the production resource parameters of the show are carried through at every level, considering practical issues like show continuity, televisual language, production and budgetary considerations.
About the role
* Providing daily administrative support to the story writing team
* Facilitating the preparation of step-by-step episode outline documents
* Compiling episode outline documents
* Gathering production scheduling information for the Assistant producer
* Administrative support in character plotting as detailed by the story editor
* Updating and maintaining story bible and archive documents
* Additional administrative and support duties as required by the Executive Producer and Series Producer
About you
* Knowledge of all aspects of television production and the production requirements of drama
* A keen interest in continuous drama and excellent organisational skills with a meticulous approach to their work is essential
* Experience of working in a high-pressure, ever-changing environment with a large production team
* Excellent communication skills, be able to prioritise their work and work under their own initiative

This appointment will be made on a fixed purpose, full-time contract for a duration of two years. The salary range is €33,392 - €45,017 gross per annum.
