Summary: Our client, a biopharmaceutical company located in Dublin, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of capital and investment projects on-site.
The ideal candidate will be managing engineering projects through the full lifecycle, from scope definition and design through execution, commissioning, qualification, and handover, in compliance with site quality systems, c GMP, and applicable regulatory requirements (HPRA/FDA).
Responsibilities: Deliver investment projects with a focus on utilities and building services, including HVAC heat recovery systems, heat pumps, chillers, and related infrastructure.
Liaise, where necessary, with external engineering companies to complete design and execution.
Maintain strict budgetary control, while adhering to agreed schedules.
Manage procurement activities associated with projects, inclusive of tendering, purchasing and invoice management.
Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of projects.
Prepare/support commissioning and qualification documentation and execution per site procedures.
Adhere to safe working practices as set out in the safety statement and other company safety rules.
Control and monitor safe working practices of contractors on-site.
Qualifications & Experience: Third-level degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 3 years experience delivering engineering or capital projects within pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan workload and deliver against tight timelines.
Experience managing external contractors and engineering service providers.
Ability to communicate effectively with Site Management, Engineering disciplines, EHS, Production, and Quality teams.
Good understanding of best-practice safety procedures and standards applicable to construction and installation activities.
Project management qualification (PMP or equivalent) is an advantage.
