Energy Project Manager - Grade VIIIPurpose of the Role:The primary purpose of this post is to lead, develop and implement the Children's Health Ireland's (CHI's) approach to environmental and energy sustainability. Through senior professional management, promoting and implementing carbon reduction through energy management and behavioral change programmes, developing environmental management systems, sustainable and active travel whilst adhering to environmental legal compliance.Essential Criteria:· Hold a Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering (or equivalent) accredited by the relevant Professional Institute being Engineers Ireland.· Have had at least five years' satisfactory experience after attaining the qualification at (i) (ii) (iii) above, in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, including adequate experience in the design, project management and construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of the mechanical, electrical and heating services of such buildings.· Specialist knowledge and experience in energy management, sustainability and environmental management including strategic awareness, business case preparation and presentations.· Knowledge and experience of energy management, energy systems and renewable energy.· Knowledge and sufficient past experience in the design and construction in line with NZEB requirements and Energy Efficient Design (EED) management on construction projects in line with IS · Previous experience in dynamic thermal analysis and applications to both new and existing buildings for the purposes of Part L compliance, energy analysis, daylight and overheating analysis.· Knowledge and experience of the construction of buildings and building services and an understanding of the maintenance requirements.· Good working knowledge of legislation and technical guidance in the estates area including building, planning, health and safety and fire safety regulations.· Project management experience.· Experience leading complex, cross- functional work programmes and delivering business outcomes on time and within budget.· Financial management experience.· A passionate advocate and influencer for climate action and sustainability.How to Apply and Informal Enquiries:Applications for this post must be accompanied by a cover letter, setting out relevant experience that illustrates how the essential criteria listed above is met.The criterion for short listing is based on the requirements of the post, as outlined in the eligibility criteria.* Please note that you must submit a cover letter with your CV, this forms part of your application and CV's will not be accepted without a detailed cover letter.The closing date for submissions of CV's and cover letter is Thursday 11th December at 11.45pm.
