Principal Data Analyst
Senior role in the Clinical Solutions - Risk Adjustment Team responsible for developing and scaling advanced reporting, analytics, and AI-driven solutions that improve organizational performance.
Partner with cross‑functional leaders to drive efficiency through automated insights, modern tooling, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, identify growth opportunities, and guide strategic actions while continuously advancing analytics capabilities across teams.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with various business and data analytics teams, demonstrate business analysis experience, and prioritize tasks effectively in a changing environment.

What you will do
Develop, implement, and scale advanced analytics, reporting, and AI‑driven solutions to improve organizational performance and decision‑making.
Develop a deep understanding of data and business processes related to In Office Assessment.
Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
Research and develop innovative analytics to generate value for Optum and our clients.
Use data expertise to optimize performance of operations and data processing tasks.
Design data integration processes utilizing AI, automation, process controls, and monitoring tools to ensure data quality.
Validate data pipelines and provide design inputs to build scalable data and analytics processes/data flows.
Provide quality checks to ensure high standard and accurate data.
Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance through structured validation, monitoring, and controls.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in data analytics, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Extensive experience in complex data analysis using relational and non‑relational (NoSQL) databases, mining large datasets, and working with SQL, Python, Databricks, or similar programming languages.
Proven ability to deliver end‑to‑end AI and analytics solutions, including data analysis, validation, reporting, and operationalization.
Experience driving data‑driven business solutions in complex environments using multiple data sources.
Ability to drive change and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels through technical discussions and analytical insights.
Solid communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data insights for non‑technical audiences.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Risk Adjustment within healthcare or data‑centric roles.
Experience mentoring or leading data analysts.
Knowledge of data architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data warehouse design, and large‑scale data processing.
